In that blog post, I wrote "If there was any car that I would buy on the spot (assuming it was repairable and in good shape) - this would be the one."
Turns out that was the best thing I ever did.
Over the next few months I received a few e-mails from various owners of these cars, but unfortunately none were for sale, or the ones they had were in need of too much repair.
Still, it was good I was receiving communication on this car. I was happy to know that people remembered her.
In June 2007 I received a communication from someone in Arizona.
He had one.
And it ran.
And it was fixable.
Could it be my search was over?
The very next week, I received an e-mail from another pace car owner.
(What are the odds of that happening?)
So anyway, long story longer, the guy who contacted me first had the better car. It was in better shape in most areas - but the most important part was that it ran and drove.
I bought this car without ever physically seeing it in person.
The car was delivered in late July 2007. She arrived safe and sound. It will take some time to restore her, but I honestly think it will be well worth it.
